Mission, Vision, and Objectives

Project H.E.L.P. Missions

Project H.E.L.P. has three missions, which include to ensure all students have the opportunities they need to work to their full academic and social potential, to close the achievement gap between students from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, and to evolve as a district, county, state, and national model for early academic interventions.

Project H.E.L.P. Vision

The agency’s vision is to “enlarge the territory” of our public schools both in terms of the number of hours and days in which schools are accessible to the children and families they serve, and in taking on a larger degree of responsibility for providing all students with the prescriptive instructional services they require to be successful in school.

Strategic Objective For The 2008-9 School Year

In the 2008-9 school year the Project H.E.L.P. strategic plan will center around initiating the process of "closing the achievement gap" at Bishop Elementary School as a prototype school model - and as a first step toward "closing the ahievement gap" in the Sunnyvale School District - through the district wide implementation of Project H.E.L.P.  This endeavor will be supported by the newly created Sunnyvale Community Collaboration -a community partnership consisting of the Sunnyvale School District, Bishop Elementary School, and local service clubs, small businesses, corporations, and foundations.
